Houchens Food Group, Inc. is seeking a Meat Cutter to handle meat operation tasks including cutting, storing, and serving meat. The role requires assisting in inventory management, maintaining temperature controls, and ensuring safety procedures are followed.

Flexible work schedule with responsibilities including customer service and accurate timekeeping. No prior experience is required, and there is potential for both full-time and part-time positions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• No prior experience required.
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor distribution and ensure guidelines are followed.
• Clean and sterilize dishes, utensils, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintain coolers, cases and displays by keeping them stocked.
• Observe scheduled shift hours as assigned by meat and/or store manager.
• Give all customers friendly, courteous, and prompt service.
• Maintain good communication with the meat manager.
• Share responsibility for controlling shrink.
• Properly record all hours worked. Verify and sign the time ticket report.
• Monitor food preparation and serving.
• Assist in recording and maintaining accurate bookkeeping systems as far as weekly and monthly meat purchases.
• Assist in maintaining proper record to control shrink through inventory and ordering.
• Inventory all products on hand before prepaying a meat order.
• Assist Meat Manager in taking a four-week period meat inventory.
• Ensure product is rotated when received and stocked.
• Ensure meat coolers and cases are running at proper temperature.
• Ensure proper safety procedures are being used.
• Clean and maintain meat department, coolers, cases and equipment.
