Job summary

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market in Kenosha, WI is seeking a Meat Cutter to stock meat cases, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe department. You will follow recipe standards, ensure proper dating procedures, and operate knives, scales, and wrapping tools with care.

This role requires attention to detail, strong customer service, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while coordinating with the Meat Department.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience in retail meat.
• Preferred 2–3 years grocery meat department experience.
• Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
• Journeyman cutter or apprenticeship completed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock meat cases; presentation, facing, filling, and pricing accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness of meat aisles, storage, and work areas.
• Monitor rotation and expiry of meat products.
• Assist customers and upsell products across the meat counter.
• Receive, inspect, and log shipments; ensure proper temp and quality.
• Operate knives, scales, wrappers, and other dept equipment.
• Weigh, label, and package meat and seafood items according to dating rules.
