Job summary

Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is seeking a Meat Cutter to stock and maintain meat cases, assist customers, and ensure product freshness. You will follow department guidelines and uphold safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include weighing, labeling, packaging, and preparing meat/seafood items, while delivering excellent customer service and maintaining department cleanliness. Prior meat department experience is preferred and advantageous for growth within the team.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Minimum 2 years professional experience.
• Preferred 2-3 years grocery retail experience in Meat department processes and procedures.
• Journeyman cutter or apprenticeship program completed preferred.

Responsibilities

• Stock meat cases and ensure pricing accuracy.
• Maintain cleanliness of meat aisles and work area.
• Monitor rotation and expiry of products.
• Assist customers at the meat counter and upsell products.
• Operate knives, scales and packaging equipment.
• Prepare specialty meat/seafood items as needed.
