Job summary

ShopRite – Hazlet, NJ is hiring a Meat Cutter Clerk to deliver quality service in the meat department. You will cut and trim meat, assist customers, and maintain a clean, safe workspace in a high-volume store environment.

Essential duties include operating meat department equipment, stocking products, and following company policies on safety and sanitation. Must be able to lift up to 80-90 lbs and work in varying temperatures.

Qualifications

• English language skills including reading, writing, speaking and comprehension.
• Basic math proficiency for quantity, pricing and inventory tasks.
• Knowledge of safe food handling and proper sanitation practices.
• Ability to stand, lift up to 80-90 lbs, and work in cold environments.
• Ability to operate meat department equipment and tools safely.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe and organized meat department workspace.
• Cut and trim meat per company specifications and rotate stock.
• Assist customers with product selection and questions.
• Keep department stocked, priced and properly displayed.
• Follow safety, QA, and sanitation standards in daily duties.
• Operate band saws, grinders, wrapping machines, and knives as trained.
