Job summary

ShopRite's Carteret, NJ location is seeking a Meat Cutter Clerk to deliver a great customer experience in the Meat Department. You will cut meat, keep the department visually appealing, and assist customers with selections in a safe, efficient manner.

The role requires ability to lift up to 80-90 lbs, work in refrigerated environments, and follow company policies. Training is provided to meet department standards and safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• Able to read, write, speak English fluently and understand basic math.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits.
• Able to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 80–90 lbs and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized meat department.
• Cut and trim meat per company standards; rotate and display products.
• Follow packaging, pricing, and inventory procedures; assist customers.
• Operate meat department equipment safely (band saws, grinders, wrapping machines).
• Adhere to sanitation policies and QA standards; report equipment issues.
