Job summary

Whole Foods Market in the United States is seeking a Meat Cutter to cut, prepare, and merchandise meat products while delivering courteous, efficient service to customers and Team Members. The role requires adherence to health, safety, and quality standards and supports ongoing training and program execution.

Responsibilities include slicing and displaying beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry; preparing sausages and cured items; preventing spoilage; mentoring trainees; and ensuring accurate signs

Qualifications

• 14+ months of retail experience.
• Completed Whole Foods Market Butcher Apprentice Program or equivalent training.
• UK exceptions may apply.

Responsibilities

• Cuts, platters, and merchandises beef, pork, lamb, veal, and poultry.
• Prepares specialty meat merchandise (sausages, oven-ready products, cured meats).
• Checks products against quality standards.
• Maintains sampling program.
• Monitors and prevents spoilage.
• Mentors Meat Cutter Trainee(s).
• Provides courteous, friendly customer service and uses suggestive selling techniques.
• Ensures accurate signs and pricing.
• Follows health, sanitation, safety procedures (Weights & Measures).
• Maintains clean, sanitary work area and equipment.
• Performs opening, mid, and closing duties.
• Reports safety hazards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
