Job summary

ShopRite is seeking a Meat Department associate to deliver a great customer experience, cut meat, and keep the department visually appealing. You will work in a fast-paced, temperature-controlled environment handling fresh, dried, and processed products while upholding safety and QA standards.

Responsibilities include maintaining sanitation, stocking, and assisting customers with product selection. Flexibility for long shifts and overtime is required, with emphasis on teamwork and reliability.

Qualifications

• English literacy and basic math skills required.
• Knowledge of safe food handling practices preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 90 lbs and work in refrigerated environments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, organized and safe work environment.
• Maintain sanitation controls per policy.
• Clean and sanitize all surfaces, utensils and equipment.
• Keep floors clear of debris and spills.
• Work in refrigerated cutting rooms and cold storages with humidity and low temps.
• Follow procedures for receiving, dating, storing, pricing and restocking.
• Handle damaged and spoiled products per policy.
• Check refrigeration equipment and report failures.
• Unload trucks and move merchandise weighing 35–90 lbs.
• Lift, push and rotate merchandise regularly.
• Follow COOL regulations and shrink guidelines.
• Maintain and report equipment problems.
• Complete department training programs.
• Check invoices, prices and item locations.
• Promote current charitable promotions to customers.
• Stand for long shifts and overtime as needed.
• Cut and trim meat per specs; rotate products in cases.
• Remove outdated/damaged products; restock cases.
• Remove trash and handle 4-wheel equipment.
• Adhere to QA and health regulations; dress per policy.
• Support ShopRite service priorities: Safety, Friendliness, Presentation, Efficiency.
• Maintain punctual attendance.
