Job summary

ShopRite of East Haven is seeking a Meat Cutter Clerk to join the Meat Department. This role involves cutting meat, maintaining department presentation, and assisting customers with selections in a fast-paced retail setting.

Responsibilities include following safety and sanitation standards, lifting and moving product, and operating department equipment. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, and speaking English required.
• Ability to perform basic math.
• Strong knowledge of safe food handling and safe work habits.
• Stand and lift up to 35 lbs regularly, 80-90 lbs occasionally.
• Able to work in varying temperatures and in refrigerated areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, neat, and safe work environment.
• Prepare and cut meat per department standards and customer needs.
• Assist customers with selections and provide courteous service.
• Operate Meat Dept. equipment safely and report any issues.
• Follow sanitation, QA, and safety guidelines consistently.
