Save-A-Lot, Ltd. in Youngstown, OH seeks a Meat Manager apprentice to learn trimming beef and pork for retail, packaging chicken, and handling merchandising, inventory, and customer service in a refrigerated cutting room.

You will operate meat saws and slicers, stock shelves, assist vendors, and follow safety guidelines as you gain hands-on skills. Shifts typically run up to 8 hours per day.

Formación

• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Ability to read and write.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic.
• Lift and stack up to 100 pounds.
• Work shifts, up to 8 hours.
• Travel to and from work.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Pull or push wheeled equipment up to 1000 pounds.
• Operate meat saws, cubers, slicers, scales, grinders and labeling machines.
• Normally work a maximum 8 hour shift.
• Provide assistance to customers and employees.
• Prepare, weigh, package and price product to maximize gross profit, stock, merchandise and rotate product.
• Write work schedules and supervise employees.
• Maintain sales and other written records.
• Perform freshness checks and re-condition product.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning and mopping functions.

Responsabilidades

• Unload product from trucks and stock shelves up to 6 feet high.
• Cut and package meat items and weigh them.
• Prepare, weigh and wrap meat items; price to maximize gross profit.
• Assist customers and cut orders; display and merchandize meat.
• Maintain product freshness and rotate stock; check codes.
• Clean and sanitize work areas; sweeping and mopping.
