Job summary

Giant Eagle in Brentwood, NY is seeking a Meat Cutter Apprentice to cut meat and prepare products for sale, while delivering outstanding guest service and supporting the Meat Lead. You will help maintain the meat case and assist in special orders, with a focus on safety, quality, and guest satisfaction.

You will learn all aspects of meat department operations, grow toward leadership, and contribute to a helpful, diverse team.

Qualifications

• Experience in meat department or similar role preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Learn to cut meat and prepare products for sale.
• Learn to grind and prepare ground meat.
• Record and assist in preparing special orders.
• Assist in maintaining meat cooler and freezer efficiency.
• Learn all aspects of code dating.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock goals.
• Wrap and maintain meat case.
• Rotate and check code dates for safety.
• Provide products meeting customer specifications and company service credo.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment.
• Demonstrate helpful suggestive selling.
• Promote diversity, inclusion and respect in the team.
