Job summary

Schnucks is seeking an apprenticeship in the retail meat department in New York. Some experience in the retail meat department is needed to support service, cut and prep tasks, and learning shop safety.

You will learn to use all tools including power saws, grinders, cubing machines, sealers, wrappers, and to maintain cleanliness and proper temperatures in coolers and cutting rooms. Training is provided at store level.

Qualifications

• Apprenticeship with some meat department experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 125–150 pounds.
• Ability to operate meat preparation equipment and maintain sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly and courteous service to customers.
• Cut and prepare meat including blocking beef, pork, lamb & veal.
• Grind meat and prepare products for the service case.
• Stock and rotate products in meat cases and maintain temperature controls.
