Job summary

Save A Lot - Ascend Grocery LLC is seeking a Meat Cutter to maintain the store's meat department and drive sales while ensuring top quality and freshness.

You will trim, prepare, and display cuts, follow merchandising plans, and uphold strict sanitation standards in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks and power equipment.
• Knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine and power saw experience preferred.
• Must be 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Cut, trim and prepare meat according to department standards.
• Display meat cuts attractively in the counter per procedures.
• Assist with product ordering and stock control.
• Receive, inspect, and store delivered meat to maintain cold chain and quality.
• Maintain sanitation and quality standards daily as per company policy.

Job Summary

The Meat Cutter ensures the store’s meat department operates at the standards set by the company, driving sales and maximizing profitability. The Meat Cutter delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company’s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual.

Responsibilities

• Uses knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to Save A Lot policies and procedures
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to Save A Lot procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers
• Assist with product ordering
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain the cold chain and ensures meat quality
• Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to Save A Lot policy

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age
• High School diploma or equivalent required
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (were certified to cut meat) preferred
• Ability to regularly lift 30lbs
