Job summary

Save A Lot - Ascend Grocery LLC is seeking a Meat Cutter to ensure the meat department meets company standards, drives sales, and maximizes profitability. You will trim and prepare standard cuts of meat following the Meat Cutter Resource Manual and maintain display quality for appealing presentation.

Responsibilities include using knives and power equipment, receiving and inspecting meat deliveries, maintaining cold chain, and upholding sanitation and quality standards daily.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience safely using manual pallet jacks, hand tools, and power equipment, including but not limited to knives, wrappers, scales, slicers, cubing machine, and power saw (were certified to cut meat) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses knives and power equipment, cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork, and poultry items according to Save A Lot policies and procedures.
• Prepares and places meat cuts and products in the display counter according to Save A Lot procedures so they will appear attractive and appealing to the customers.
• Assist with product ordering.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat upon delivery, to maintain the cold chain and ensures meat quality.
• Ensures excellent sanitation and quality standards are met daily which adhere to Save A Lot policy.

The Meat Cutter delivers the highest level of customer service and satisfaction by following the company’s meat merchandising plan and trimming /preparing standard cuts of meat as outlined in the Meat Cutter Resource Manual.
