Job Description

Perform general clean-up and stock work in the Meat department and provide customer service. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities

1. Wait on customers and counter promptly and cheerfully. Greet customers and provide them with good quality food.
2. Be prompt, tactful, calm, courteous, and professional in all interactions.
3. Communicate effectively with customers and associates.
4. Make a clean, neat, and friendly impression on customers.
5. Unload and store merchandise, prepare and display foods according to company standards, recipes, and policies.
6. Perform required temperature monitoring.
7. Monitor product quality; ensure it is always fresh and safe.
8. Keep sales areas, backrooms, and coolers clean and well-organized.
9. Maintain floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
10. Wash and sanitize cookware and utensils following company and Health Department policies.
11. Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality, and space allocation for merchandise.
12. Ensure equipment and facilities are maintained properly and safely.
13. Adhere to company policies, procedures, and legal regulations.
14. Operate cash register as per company procedures.
15. Work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
16. Manage conflicts in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
17. Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
18. Follow directions and seek assistance when needed.
19. Support and assist with minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.
20. Perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications

Minimum

• Willing to work weekends and holidays.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to read shelf tags, signs, labels, and training materials.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work professionally with all levels.
• Personal initiative and follow-through.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Safe handling of cleaning solutions, sharp tools, and operation of equipment.

Desired

• Dependability and integrity in past work.
• Experience in food preparation.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.
• Experience in grocery retail and customer service.
