Job summary

Food for Lane County is seeking a Meals on Wheels Coordinator in Eugene to oversee program coordination and client experience for the MOW program. The role blends direct service to older adults and people with disabilities, delivery driving, volunteer coordination, and admin tasks.

The ideal candidate can juggle multiple responsibilities, adapt to changing priorities, and build strong relationships with SDS and community partners.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable populations, including older adults and diverse client groups.
• Ability to work independently and in a team with strong organizational skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects with attention to detail and shifting priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook; experience with databases preferred.
• Maintains composure and professional conduct under pressure or emergencies.
• Excellent customer service and ability to build relationships with SDS and clients.
• Hold a current Food Handler’s Card or commit to obtaining within two weeks of hire.
• Valid Oregon driver’s license and reliable transportation; willing to drive for FFLC
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
• Background check required for employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a caseload of approximately 200 clients.
• Coordinate daily logistics: orders, inventory, meal preparation, and delivery.
• Conduct client assessments and in-home visits.
• Provide information and referrals to SDS and community resources.
• Report suspected abuse or neglect to Adult Protective Services.
• Drive delivery routes using personal or company vehicle; mileage reimbursement available.
• Set up and take down delivery equipment daily.
• Maintain accurate client records in databases.
• Perform administrative duties: data entry, reports, phones/emails, referrals.
