Job summary

Town of Abingdon in Virginia is seeking a Concessions Support Staff member for the Meadows Sports Complex concessions. This part-time, seasonal role focuses on friendly customer service and efficient operation during events.

You will serve customers, prepare and sell food and beverages, handle cash and POS transactions, maintain cleanliness, and assist with daily concession stand operations. Evening and nighttime shifts are common, with weekend and some holiday work required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
• Previous food service or customer service experience is preferred but not required.

Position Summary

The Concessions Support Staff provides customer service and general operational support at the Meadows Sports Complex concessions. This position is responsible for serving customers, preparing and selling food and beverages, handling cash and point-of-sale transactions, maintaining cleanliness, and assisting with the daily operation of the concession stand.

Work Schedule

This is a part-time, seasonal position with primarily evening and nighttime hours. Work schedules will vary based on athletic events and facility activities and may include weekends and some holidays. Employees may have the opportunity to transition to support staff duties at the Coomes Recreation Center during the winter months, based on staffing needs and performance.
