Job summary

Colby College Athletics is seeking energetic, reliable Concessions Stand Workers to join the Game Day Operations team. You will be the face of Mule pride, handling food preparation, credit card transactions, and maintaining a welcoming environment during home events.

The starting pay rate is $15.10 per hour, with shifts primarily during evenings and weekends. Training is provided, and you will work in our world-class athletic facilities within the Colby campus.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer service or food service is a plus but training is provided.
• Ability to communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to work games evenings, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.

Responsibilities

• Greet fans and visitors with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and process with the POS system.
• Prepare and package concession items and restock displays during events.
• Monitor temperatures to ensure food safety and cleanliness.
• Close stands following events and secure inventory.

In this role, you will be the face ofMule pride for fans, parents, alumni, and students visiting ourworld-class athletic facilities. You will handle food preparation,credit card transactions, and maintain a clean, welcomingenvironment during home athletic events.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet fans and visitors with an enthusiastic, helpfulattitude.
• Take food and beverage orders accurately and efficiently.
• Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process credit cardtransactions

Food Prep & Operations

• Prepare and package standard concession items (e.g., popcorn,pretzels, hot dogs, hot/cold beverages) following safety andportion guidelines.
• Restock food displays, refrigerators, and condiment stationsthroughout the event.
• Monitor food temperatures to ensure safety compliance.

Cleanliness & Safety

• Maintain a spotless, organized workspace adhering to Maine foodhealth and safety regulations.
• Wipe down counters, clean equipment (like popcorn machines androllers), and dispose of trash at the conclusion of the event.
• Follow closing procedures to secure the stand andinventory.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, orfood service is a plus, but not required. We will train you!
• Skills: Ability to communicate clearly and work well in a fast-paced environment.
• Availability: Flexibility to work schedules aligned with homegame calendars, which heavily include evenings, Friday nights, andSaturdays/Sundays.
• Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods (3 to 5hours) and lift up to 30 lbs (bags of ice, soda syrup boxes, orbeverage crates).
