Job summary

Genesis invites you to join its Future Leaders MDS Coordinator in Training (MDS-IT) program, a six-to-ten month hands-on development path focused on MDS 3.0, PDPM, and accurate coding within skilled nursing facilities.

As part of the program, you’ll work with an experienced preceptor and interdisciplinary team to learn resident assessment, care planning, and reimbursement, with mentorship, hands-on facility experience, and a capstone project.

Qualifications

• Licensed nurse (RN or LPN) required.
• Exposure to or willingness to learn MDS 3.0, RAI process, CAAs, and reimbursement methodologies (PDPM).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret clinical documentation.
• English proficiency for safety and team communication.
• Proficiency or ability to learn EMR systems (e.g., PCC).
• Must meet health requirements including TB testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop MDS process and support accurate scoring and compliance.
• Assist with care planning, documentation, and reimbursement optimization.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure high-quality resident outcomes.
