Cantex in El Paso, TX is seeking an MDS Coordinator to ensure accurate RAI processing, supporting Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement and high-quality resident care.

You will oversee MDS assessments, documentation accuracy, care‑plan coordination, and regulatory compliance, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team.

The role requires Texas RN or LVN license, 2+ years in long‑term care, and ability to train staff; we offer growth and a vibrant culture.

Qualifications

• Texas RN or LVN license active and in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of long‑term care experience preferred.
• Completion of HHSC RUG Online Training or equivalent.
• AANAC RAI Certification within 1 year of employment is required/expected.
• Strong communication, documentation, and delegation skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain compliance with State and Federal Medicare/Medicaid rules.
• Audit MDS documentation and educate staff on guidelines.
• Coordinate Weekly Reimbursement Meetings with the interdisciplinary team.
• Review pre‑admission paperwork for medical necessity.
• Complete all MDS assessments within required timeframes.
• Update physician certifications for Part A residents.
• Track census and coordinate with Finance for accurate billing.
• Prepare for Medicaid audits and ensure documentation readiness.
