Job summary

Beecan Health is seeking a dedicated MDS Coordinator to manage MDS assessments, coding, and documentation in long-term care settings. You will collaborate with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to ensure accurate data, regulatory compliance, and timely submissions.

The role requires RN or LPN licensure in Iowa, experience with MDS, and strong knowledge of HIPAA and CMS guidelines. This in-person position offers opportunities to impact reimbursement and patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Unencumbered State of Iowa RN License or LPN certificate.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and CPR certification.
• Prior experience as a MDS Coordinator.
• 1 year of RN or LPN experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of residents' clinical status using the MDS tool for accurate data collection.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to gather information for MDS completion.
• Ensure timely submission of MDS assessments according to deadlines.
• Review medical records and plans to verify accuracy before submission.
• Maintain knowledge of healthcare regulations, HIPAA, and Medicare requirements.
• Utilize EHR systems to document assessments and manage data.
• Support quality improvement through data analysis of MDS outcomes and compliance metrics.
