Job summary

Brickyay Healthcare in Richmond, IN is seeking an MDS Coordinator (LPN/RN) to coordinate resident assessments under federal and state regulations and company policy. You will act as in-house case manager, coordinating care with physicians, families, payers and staff.

Requirements include an active LPN or RN license, CPR certification, and 2+ years in healthcare with 1+ year in long-term care; prior MDS coordinator experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse with a current, active license in the state of practice.
• Must hold and maintain a current CPR certification.
• Minimum two (2) years of clinical experience in a health care setting.
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a long term care setting.
• Prior experience as an MDS coordinator with demonstrated expertise.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for the completion of the Resident Assessment Instrument per federal and state regulations and company policy and procedures.
• Acts as an in-house case manager by coordinating services with physicians, families, third party payers and facility staff.
• Coordinates the development and completion of the resident assessment (MDS) in accordance with current Federal and state rules and regulations.
• Selects the correct ARD and reasons for assessment to capture resources for Medicare/Medicaid billing.
• Uses company systems to manage the MDS process.
• Assists in the development of a comprehensive resident assessment and care plan.
• Communicates with product champions to train new nursing employees on the RAI process.
• Participates in the Medicare Part A in house review as directed.
• Follows company procedures regarding weekly communication for billing.
