Job summary

North Shore Healthcare seeks an experienced RN to lead the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process, ensuring accurate and timely completion of resident assessments in line with Medicare, Medicaid, OBRA, and other payor requirements.

The role requires strong clinical assessment skills, Geriatrics experience, and solid knowledge of PPS/OBRA compliance, with emphasis on documentation and regulatory adherence. This on-site position offers growth in a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in good standing with state licensing board.
• Clinical experience or specialty in geriatrics.
• Competence in PPS assessment and OBRA compliance.
• Excellent clinical assessment and documentation skills.
• Strong organizational and independent decision-making abilities.
• Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing the center.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Direct and administer the RAI process for accurate, timely resident assessments.
• Ensure assessments reflect residents' physical, mental, and psychosocial status.
• Maintain accurate documentation to support services and reimbursements.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Monitor PPS processes and OBRA guidelines to optimize reimbursement.

Summary of position

Responsible for the direction and administration of the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) process to ensure accurate and timely completion of resident assessments in accordance with Medicare, Medicaid, OBRA and other payor program requirements. Ensures assessments accurately reflect the physical, mental and psychosocial status of each resident; ensures accuracy of RAI to reflect optimal reimbursement for services provided; ensures appropriate documentation to report and support services provided and assessment accuracy.

Requirements of the position

Required Education and Experience

• Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing with respective state licensing board
• Clinical experience, education or specialty skills specific to geriatrics
• Demonstrated competence in PPS assessment as well as OBRA compliance
• Excellent clinical assessment skills
• Excellent organization and independent decision-making skills
• Knowledgeable and understands state and federal regulations and guidelines governing the practices of the center
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft products

Preferred Education and Experience

• 2+ years of previous experience
• Experience in a fast-paced environment
• Post-acute care or health care experience preferred
