Job summary

Colorow Care Center is seeking an MDS Specialist to direct, coordinate, and lead MDS systems, Medicare A/B and other insurances, while overseeing case management and ensuring accurate reimbursement for services in a long-term care setting.

You will coordinate with the Interdisciplinary Team—nursing, dietary, social services, restorative nursing, physicians and rehab—to determine the appropriate level of skilled care, perform clinical assessments, and manage data entry for PPS and MDS submissions.

Qualifications

• Must have MDS experience and knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
• Administrative supervisory experience in a hospital or nursing facility is preferred.
• Ability to pass a criminal and CAPS background check.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and manages information and clinical integration from IDT to ensure appropriate skilled level and resource capture.
• Performs clinical assessments and data entry for regulatory/PPS and MDS submissions with accuracy.
• Maintains up-to-date knowledge of MDS and Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement.
• Serves as resource for MDS/RUGS and Case Mix systems.
• Coordinates with Business Office Manager for billing data and insurance authorization.
