Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join the IFPC Inc 2 team, focusing on MBSE content, requirements, and verification artifacts. The role operates within a matrixed environment across multiple programs, emphasizing communication with non‑Systems Engineering stakeholders and independent MBSE work.

Preferred candidates have MBSE experience, leadership, and a background in DoD programs; DoD do‑acq knowledge and professional certifications are valued.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree plus 8+ years experience in systems engineering.
• Ability to derive requirements for complex electromechanical and software systems.
• Experience communicating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
• Residency in North Alabama or willingness to relocate to Huntsville area.
• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage the IFPC verification process & strategy.
• Stand up a verification review board.
• Own system level DVOs and VCNs.
• Review and approve all DVOs and VCNs at subsystem and below, including software.
• Present metrics and status to SE lead and leadership weekly.
• Plan verification priorities and manage a verification burndown across configurations.
• Ensure requirements are verifiable.
• Manage the linkage between verification artifacts and requirements.
• Define success criteria and address verification gaps.
• Own the system level VCRM; mentor team in verification artifact writing.
• Manage verification artifacts across multiple system configurations.
