Job summary

Phoenix Defense in Orlando is seeking a Systems Engineer I to support DoD programs, focusing on model-based systems engineering and complex architectures.

You will collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to develop architectures, perform requirements analysis, and model systems using SysML/UML in MBSE tools. Responsibilities span design, integration, testing, and ensuring system performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in field related to computer or information science discipline.
• 2-3 years of experience supporting IT projects/programs.
• Experience in an Agile development environment.
• Java and/or C++ experience.
• Experience designing and developing system architectures, including complex systems.
• Experience modeling systems in UML/SysML.
• Experience with MBSE tools including Enterprise Architect.
• Ability to decompose customer requirements into actionable system requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Current DoD Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engage with senior management and DoD customers.
• Develop system architectures, designs, and interface definitions with stakeholders.
• Serve as focal point for development of integrated system architecture.
• Model architectures of complex systems using SysML/UML in MBSE tools.
• Perform requirements analysis and manage traceability.
• Direct and participate in design, integration, testing and acceptance phases.
• Identify information technology project resource requirements.
• Verify stability, interoperability, and scalability of architecture.
