Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer to support a USAF AI integrated weapon system in San Diego, on-site. You will maintain MBSE models in Cameo and collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers to ensure a cohesive, interoperable system design.

The role requires 5+ years in systems engineering, MBSE expertise, and experience with Cameo or Sparx. You will contribute to requirements management and risk assessments while delivering documentation to stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of systems engineering and architecture experience.
• Strong MBSE experience.
• Hands-on with Cameo Systems Architect and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Experience with DOORS or JAMA for requirements management.
• Experience supporting requirements development, verification, and architectural trade studies.
• Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering across the full lifecycle of a technical program, from concept to disposal.
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools and methodologies (MBSE).
• Lead the definition, decomposition, and management of system requirements with traceability to objectives and stakeholders.
• Conduct trade studies, analyses of alternatives, and risk assessments to inform key decisions.
• Define and manage system interfaces for interoperability and integration between components.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers to ensure cohesive system design.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities to ensure requirements are met.
• Prepare and present technical documentation, system models, and briefings for stakeholders.
• Coordinate with program management to keep solutions on schedule and within budget.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements within the systems engineering discipline.
