Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Systems Engineer (MBSE/C2) to join our USAF program in San Diego, CA. The role focuses on supporting C2 weapon system architecture and maintaining models with MBSE tools, including Cameo and Sparx EA.

The position requires 5+ years in systems engineering for weapon systems, strong MBSE experience, and DoD-era tool proficiency. On-site work in San Diego with relocation benefits and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in systems engineering and architecture for weapon systems.
• Strong experience with MBSE.
• Hands-on experience with Cameo Systems Architect and/or Sparx Enterprise Architect.
• Experience with DOORS or JAMA for requirements management.

Responsibilities

• Apply systems engineering principles across the full lifecycle of a technical program.
• Develop and maintain system architecture models using MBSE tools (SysML/UPDM/DoDAF).
• Define, decompose, and manage system requirements with traceability.
• Conduct trade studies and risk assessments to inform technical decisions.
• Define and manage system interfaces for interoperability.
• Collaborate with software, hardware, and test engineers for integrated design.
• Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefings for stakeholders.
• Work with program management to ensure on-schedule delivery within budget.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements.
