Job summary

Southern Company in Atlanta, GA is seeking an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to provide technical leadership for IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS), OpenShift, Oracle, and related services. You will define platform architecture, standards, roadmaps, environment strategies, and resilience patterns to enable scalable, secure enterprise services.

You will partner with Platform Support, other architects, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and vendors to drive long-term platform evolution,

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, engineering, or related field.
8+ years in enterprise application platforms, infrastructure or architecture.
6+ years in 24/7 production with monitoring and troubleshooting.
Experience with IBM Maximo (7.x) and MAS 9.x.
OpenShift and containerized platforms experience.
Oracle/Exadata, Linux and Windows enterprise servers.
Data center migrations, cloud transitions, modernization programs.
Familiarity with Jira, Remedy, Change Management and Agile.
Security remediation and audit support experience.

Responsibilities

Partner with peer architects and Infrastructure Analysts.
Evaluate AI-enabled capabilities to automate platform administration and operations.
Establish enterprise architecture standards, roadmaps, and environment strategies.
Lead platform upgrades, disaster recovery planning, and vendor compatibility.
Provide senior technical leadership for major production issues and outages.
Build partnerships across disciplines to support projects and vendors.
