Job summary

Southern Company is seeking an Infrastructure Solutions Architect to lead platform architecture and modernization for MAS, OpenShift, Oracle, and related services. The role requires deep expertise in enterprise infrastructure, automation, and cybersecurity, with hybrid work: on-site three days and remote two days per week.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years in enterprise application platforms, infrastructure or architecture.
• 6+ years supporting 24/7 production environments with monitoring.
• Experience with IBM Maximo (7.x) and MAS 9.x.
• OpenShift and containerized platforms experience.
• Oracle databases and Exadata experience.
• Linux and Windows enterprise servers.
• Data center migrations, cloud transitions, and modernization programs.
• Cybersecurity remediation and audit experience.
• Familiarity with Jira, Remedy, Change Management and Agile.

Responsibilities

• Partner with a peer Infrastructure Solution Architect and a team of Infrastructure Analysts.
• AI & Knowledge Engineering: evaluate AI-enabled capabilities for automating platform admin and diagnostics.
• Platform Architecture, Strategy, and Governance: set standards, roadmaps, environment strategies, and reviews for OpenShift MAS 9.x.
• Platform Lifecycle Management: plan upgrades, versioning, DR exercises for business continuity.
• Operational Excellence: lead production issue resolution and improve monitoring and reliability.
• Vendor & Internal Consultation: act as senior technical liaison to vendors and internal teams.
