Job summary

hawaiianel is seeking a Professional in Maui to lead resource planning for maintenance and projects across HECO’s T&D assets. You will develop work scopes, coordinate outages, and ensure safe, compliant execution with SAP, SIMS, and other systems.

The role requires planning, scheduling, and budgeting experience, with strong communication and leadership to mentor junior planners and collaborate with internal teams and external vendors.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil disciplines is a plus and may substitute for up to 3 years experience
• Lineman or Substation Electrician certification with 5+ years experience may be substituted for up to 3 years
• Working knowledge of estimating, planning, or scheduling of construction, maintenance or operations activities
• General knowledge of electrical utility transmission and distribution facilities and equipment
• Ability to read construction drawings and electrical diagrams
• Knowledge of warehouse operations and inventory control
• Proficiency with personal computers and related software
• Knowledge of project management principles and budgeting/forecasting
• Familiarity with applicable regulations and permits

Responsibilities

• Create work packages and scheduling for maintenance and repair of HECO T&D assets
• Plan work scopes, procure equipment, services and materials, and coordinate outages
• Prepare and manage schedules coordinating personnel, vendors, and subcontractors
• Track progress, update schedules, and adjust resources to meet deadlines
• Generate work orders and cost tracking reports for resources and materials
• Promote teamwork and provide guidance to junior Resource Planners
• Support emergency response activities as assigned
• Liaise with multiple departments and external agencies for safe, compliant execution
