Job summary

Hawaiian Building Maintenance in Maui, HI seeks a Chief Engineer to lead the engineering team and oversee all site projects. The role focuses on strategic planning, budget management, resource allocation, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, extensive engineering/maintenance experience, and the ability to drive improvements across operations and safety programs. This is a full-time position with a 7:00 AM–4:00 PM schedule.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
• Proven experience in engineering management and facility operations.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail, with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all site activities and projects, including managing personnel.
• Set work performance standards and establish SOPs.
• Escalate major issues to executive management within 24 hours.
• Maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance across site operations.
• Manage budgets and standards; approve outside-vendor work through the property manager.
• Train staff on fire safety, security systems, and maintenance procedures.
• Monitor and schedule maintenance for mechanical and electrical systems.
