Job summary

Sinclair Community College in Ohio is seeking part-time (adjunct) Economics faculty to teach face-to-face courses at the downtown Dayton Main Campus, Centerville Campus, and Courseview campus in Mason.

Starting pay is $1,046 per credit hour assigned to teach. Eligible candidates reside in Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, and must hold a master’s degree in economics or related graduate coursework and have teaching experience.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in economics or 18 credit hours in economics required.
  • Evidence of successful prior teaching experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program level.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environment.
  • Must possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Adjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the department
  • Plan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learning
  • Prepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policies
  • Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriate
  • Modify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse students’ needs
  • Support classroom and online efforts to promote student success
  • Evaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Submit final grade rosters according to established deadlines
  • Maintain confidentiality of student information
  • Adjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semester
  • Other duties as assigned

Position Summary

The Sinclair Economics Department is seeking dedicatedand knowledgeable faculty members to join a dynamic team. Thedepartment provides students with a strong foundation in economicprinciples and financial management, equipping them for success inbusiness careers or further university studies.

Sinclair is currently seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach face-to-face courses at our main campus in downtown Dayton, Centerville Campus, and Courseview campus in Mason.

This position is open only to applicants who residein Ohio, Indiana, or Kentucky, or who are able to perform workwithin one of these states. Sinclair Community College restrictspart-time employment to approved states due to employment, tax, andbenefits compliance requirements.
