Job summary

Washtenaw Community College invites applications for part-time Mathematics Instructors to teach assigned course(s) and support student success. Schedules vary with class offerings, and instructors may teach up to 8 contact hours per week or 120 contact hours per semester, depending on enrollment.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s degree in Mathematics (or related field) or a Master’s with 18 graduate credits in Mathematics.

Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mathematics or a related field; or a Master’s degree with minimum 18 graduate credits in Mathematics.
Demonstrated ability to use technology relevant to the discipline and faculty role, including the capacity to learn and appropriately utilize emerging AI‑supported tools.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain environment conducive to student learning.
Prepare for and instruct assigned course(s) with appropriate learning experiences and materials to meet course objectives.
Adhere to course syllabus and comply with Assessment of Student Academic Achievement.
Evaluate student progress through day to day evaluation, exams and overall observation.
Grade assignments timely and assign final grades meeting deadlines.
Support student success through guidance, advising and assisting individual students as needed.
Participate in professional activities such as curriculum planning and program evaluation.
