  • One year full-time or equivalent teaching experience in the area of mathematics.

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and guides the class in an efficient and effective manner
  • Maintains accurate records of student work and attendance
  • Prepares thoroughly for each instructional hour
  • Maintains a safe and orderly learning environment
  • Gr ndes and returns student work in a timely manner
  • Counsels students regarding their grades and progress in the course
  • Constructs classroom materials that support the goals of the course
  • Designs curriculum and a schedule of instruction
  • Uses assessment techniques to improve learning and teaching
  • Maintains communication with instructors from other divisions to keep courses up-to-date
  • Remains up-to-date on technology and methods of teaching with technology
  • Attends professional development opportunities when possible
  • Able to use a wide variety of teaching methods to promote learning
  • Be innovative, creative, motivated
  • Ability to exhibit good interpersonal skills and work well with others
  • Able to maintain records accurately and meet deadlines consistently
  • Good organizational skills
  • Able to perform normal duties with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Demonstrates resourcefulness, initiative, enthusiasm, and a sincere interest in helping students reach their maximum potential

Job description

Wake Technical Community College is seeking to expand our pool of part-time faculty to teach Mathematics. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time; however, after a review of qualifications, applicants may be contacted in the future. Adjunct faculty positions provide quality, effective instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, temporary basis at various locations.
