Job summary

Central Piedmont Community College seeks an on-site tutor to plan, coordinate, and provide tutoring services supporting instructional programs. The role includes coordinating tutorials, training staff, and guiding students in using campus technology.

You will organize workshops, support computer-aided instruction, and collaborate with colleagues to promote student academic success, with opportunities for weekend or evening hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Basic computer literacy
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and standard tutoring procedures
• Ability to work well with individuals from diverse backgrounds
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Coordinates academic tutorials including individualized and group tutoring, tutor/mentor training, and academic skills workshops.
• Attends trainings and provide training to other staff when necessary.
• Assists students on how to use technology to effectively utilize campus resources.
• Organises and conducts workshops for students.
• Assists students in using computer-aided instruction and additional computer resources to help them develop basic skills in that particular subject area.
• Works as a team member with other staff members to support student's academic success.
• Participates in appropriate on-campus staff development opportunities.
