Overview

Incumbents tutor individual students and/or small groups of students to supplement and support classroom instruction. Tutors students on a one-to-one or small group basis in basic, pre-tech, and/or catalog courses.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring to small groups or one-to-one sessions to support classroom learning.
• Determine appropriate teaching/learning resources in collaboration with the instructor.
• Develop assessment tools to evaluate student academic progress.
• Monitor and record student academic progress using appropriate assessment tools.
• Assist staff in program planning, evaluation of services, and review of student progress.
• Develop guidelines and criteria for program implementation and evaluation.
• Attend orientation and training sessions and schedule meetings.
• Prepare and submit monthly reports of tutoring and related activities to supervisor.
• Schedule tutoring sessions considering student needs and availability.
• Establish and maintain open communication with technology instructors and counselors within the assigned area.
• Perform other work as required.
