Gofellows is seeking aspiring educators for the GO Tutor Corps Teacher Residency in Washington, DC, running from August 2026 to June 2027. This apprenticeship blends graduate education with hands-on teaching experience under mentorship, aiming to prepare candidates for state certification.

Qualifications

• Hold a bachelor’s degree (or will earn one before the program start date) with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Passionate about educational equity and student success.
• Eager to learn, grow, and develop as an educator.
• Thrive in collaborative environments.
• Pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching or open to enrolling in a partner program.
• Committed to working in public education long‑term.

Responsibilities

• Co‑teaching and supporting instruction in a partner school classroom.
• Working closely with a Mentor Teacher and school staff to support student learning.
• Planning and implementing lessons and small group instruction as skills develop.
• Participating in regular observations and feedback sessions.
• Completing graduate coursework aligned with certification pathway.
• Supporting classroom routines, management, and assessment.
• Engaging with students in various ways, including tutoring and leading after‑school activities.
• Attending and engaging in all trainings and meetings.
