Job summary

GO Tutor Corps in partnership with AmeriCorps seeks dedicated fellows to support students’ academic success with targeted, small-group instruction in Math or ELA at specified DC-area schools. Fellows embed in school communities, building relationships and delivering culturally responsive teaching.

Ideal candidates are committed to equity, able to lead sessions with 3-4 students, and eager to gain experience in education, mentorship, or youth development. In-person schedules are mandatory.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma/GED or current enrollment in an accredited college or university program.
• Citizenship or legal Permanent Residency status in the United States (AmeriCorps requirement).
• Served no more than three previous AmeriCorps service terms (AmeriCorps requirement).
• At least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Academic Tutoring: small groups in Math or ELA, with prepared lesson materials and consistent student groups.
• Mentoring & Enrichment: support social and emotional development, build relationships, set future goals.
