Job summary

Summit Public Schools in El Cerrito, California is seeking a Math Teacher for SY26-27. You will implement Summit’s project-based learning model, mentoring the same cohort of students and guiding them toward academic and personal goals.

The role emphasizes advisory relationships, collaboration, and equitable, rigorous instruction within a high-engagement, supportive school culture. A California teaching credential and a bachelor’s degree are required; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Teaching Credential in California or another US state.
• Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree in Education preferred.
• Experience in project-based learning and advisory mentoring is valued.

Responsibilities

• Teach 90-minute blocks in high school or four 55-minute blocks in middle school for project time.
• Maintain daily mentor group meetings and support students’ personal goals.
• Facilitate Self-Directed Learning time and literacy/math interventions.
• Collaborate in after-school professional development and grade-level/subject-level teams.
