Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Kyle, Texas, is seeking an enthusiastic College Prep Teacher to help students master academic and social skills for college success. You will set ambitious goals, track data, and develop daily lesson plans aligned with high standards, including dual-enrollment options where available.

You’ll deliver rigorous instruction, assess progress, and adjust plans to meet each student’s needs while modeling IDEA’s values and a strong work ethic.

Qualifications

• Teaching certification or equivalent demonstrates content-area proficiency.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution is required.
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting is strongly preferred.
• State certification preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Learn, master, and deliver content and grade level curriculum and texts.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Use assessments to track progress, adjust plans, and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with families on a weekly basis.
• Establish and maintain a constructive classroom behavior system.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and school events.
• Commit to 40+ hours on site per week; support tutoring when needed.
