Job summary

Adams and Associates Inc. is seeking a Math & Reading 1 Teacher in Exeter, RI to provide reading instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center. The role develops individual achievement plans to ensure academic success, working with Career Trade Instructors to infuse applied academics.

The position offers a salary of $55k annually and a regular M-F schedule from 7:45am to 4:45pm year round, with comprehensive health benefits and on-site facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school is required.
• Valid RIDE teaching certificate required; Praxis date may be considered.
• Previous teaching or Job Corps experience strongly preferred.

Position Title

Math & Reading 1 Teacher is responsible for providing reading instruction and training to students in the Career Education Center. This individual will develop individual achievement plans and academic goals to ensure student academic achievement in the program. Works with the Career Trade Instructors to infuse applied academics into CTT curricula to enhance student learning and success.

SALARY: $55k annually

SCHEDULE: M-F, 7:45am-4:45pm (year round)

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible to provide students with math and reading instruction leading to GED or high school diploma completion and improved math and literacy skills
• Provides students with comprehensive and individualized case management that ensures student progress, achievement and completion of the Job Corps program
• Ensures classroom is well organized and conducive to student learning
• Holds students accountable for following Center's dress code/behavioral standards of conduct
• Produces quality work/assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner
• Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards
• Plans, prioritizes and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines
• Understands and applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required job responsibilities
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school required

• Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching
