Job summary

School of Science and Technology (SST) Alamo in San Antonio, TX is seeking an Interventionist Teacher full-time to lead CSI small groups for students at risk in reading and math. You will collaborate with general education staff, apply state standards and PLTW/Honors/AP curricula, and monitor progress through regular assessments.

The role emphasizes delivering targeted instruction, communicating with families weekly, and maintaining a positive classroom culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution required
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting strongly preferred
• Licenses or certifications: state certification preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Teach CSI small groups consisting of students at risk in reading and/or math.
• Work closely with general education teachers to coordinate support for intervention.
• Implement state learning standards and PLTW/Honors/AP curricula and assessments.
• Learn, master and deliver relevant content and grade level curriculum and objectives.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Implement formal and informal assessments to track each student’s progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Use technology as a communication and educational tool to improve student achievement and manage tasks.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned to campus initiatives.
• Help shape a school-wide culture that fosters a productive learning environment.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Host tutoring sessions to meet students’ needs.
• Participate in weekly manager check-ins, grade-level meetings, and school-wide events.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and potential after-school duties
