Job summary

Vanguard College Prep in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Math Instructor to guide small groups and drive mastery of core topics, aiming for top ACT/SAT scores. You will implement Vanguard’s multi‑phase curriculum, monitor progress, and mentor students with empathy in a fast‑growing team.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in mathematics or a related STEM field (master’s preferred), has 1+ year teaching or tutoring experience, and is proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Google

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in mathematics, education, or related STEM field from US Schools (Master’s or higher preferred; open to those near graduation)
• Teaching experience in math and/or experience working in a community college or college-level tutoring center (1+ years)
• Academic history demonstrating high achievement (e.g., 3.5+ GPA)
• Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and G-Suites
• Access to a reliable internet connection and a dedicated, quiet workspace

Responsibilities

• Teach and Inspire: Instruct small core groups of students in their math core skills to drive long-term mastery of topics and top ACT/SAT scores
• Track Growth: Monitor your students’ progress using Vanguard’s multi-phase curriculum, engaging students in individualized growth and improvement opportunities along the way.
• Organize: Model professionalism and strong organizational skills by replying to students in a timely manner, maintaining and updating student lesson schedules on our online platform, and holding students accountable for assignments.
• Innovate: Spearhead the development and creative execution of ever-evolving lesson plans and curriculum.
• Mentor: Guide middle and high school students with empathy as they navigate an increasingly competitive college prep landscape.
