Job summary

Loudoun County Public Schools in Ashburn, Virginia seeks a Math Specialist who will coordinate K-12 math curriculum and instruction with the Mathematics Supervisor. The role focuses on organizing programs, evaluating effectiveness, and aligning with Virginia DOE guidelines.

The successful candidate will lead professional learning for teachers, collaborate with school teams, manage projects and budgets, and support math resources across the division.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Mathematics or related field.
• Five years of successful teaching experience in Mathematics at the Elementary or Secondary level.
• Virginia Postgraduate Professional License with endorsement in Math or Elementary Education PreK-6.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates the effectiveness of the Math instructional program and aligns with Virginia Department of Education guidelines.
• Plans, advises, and facilitates professional learning to improve student outcomes.
• Collaborates with school-based teams to conduct learning walks and provide instructional support for math resources.
• Directs or assists in coordinating special math projects and initiatives.
• Works with central office departments to provide coordinated instructional services in Math.
• Supports Math Resource Teachers and School-Based Math Support through coaching and collaborative planning.
• Assists with budget preparation, reporting, and meetings as requested by leadership.
