Qualifications

• Massachusetts Elementary Teacher Certification
• Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of five years experience teaching at elementary level.
• Knowledge of and experience in methods of continuous improvement, systems dynamics, and current learning theory preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent ability to work with and facilitate the work of others.
• Current employment in the Longmeadow Public Schools.
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
• At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
• Master degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required

Responsibilities

• Apply principles of continuous improvement, systems dynamics, current learning theory, and curriculum integration to our instructional improvement processes.
• Coordinate district planning and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum that is aligned across schools and between grade levels.
• Keep current on curriculum standards, materials and instruction and recommend appropriate changes to staff and schools.
• Act as a resource person and consultant to teachers, administrators, and community on maintaining and improving curriculum and instruction.
• Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in curriculum development meetings and actions that support these.
• Advise the Superintendent and Professional Growth Committees on appropriate professional development programs.
• Provide information about the instructional program to School Committee, staff, students, parents, and community.
• Analyze assessment results and coordinate reporting to the School Committee, Superintendent, staff, and public.
