Job summary

Longmeadow Public Schools is seeking a Middle Level - ELA Coordinator for a 1-year stipend position. The role coordinates curriculum, instruction and assessment, supporting professional growth and alignment across schools.

The incumbent will report to the Superintendent and Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, starting immediately. This part-time stipend position includes collaboration with staff, parents, and the community to improve student learning.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts Elementary Teacher Certification is required.
• Masters degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum of five years experience teaching at elementary level.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, systems dynamics, and current learning theory preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work with and facilitate the work of others.
• Current employment in the Longmeadow Public Schools.
• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Apply principles of continuous improvement and curriculum alignment to instructional improvement processes.
• Coordinate district planning and implementation of a comprehensive curriculum across schools and grades.
• Keep current on standards, materials and instruction and recommend changes.
• Serve as a resource to teachers and administrators on curriculum and instruction.
• Coordinate curriculum development meetings and actions supporting these.
• Advise on professional development programs for staff.
