Job summary

Upper Merion Area School District in King of Prussia, PA seeks a Middle School Math Counts coach for the 2026-27 school year to organize and lead after-school math clubs.

You will plan activities, coach the team through Sprint/Target/Team/Countdown rounds, register with MATHCOUNTS and PA chapter, and coordinate with families and district staff. Unit load is 5; all required clearances must be completed before employment.

Vacancy for a Middle School Math Count for School Year 2026-27

Responsibilities:

• Organize, schedule, and facilitate regular (weekly or bi-weekly) after-school MATHCOUNTS / Math Club meetings throughout the school year.
• Plan and deliver engaging activities, logic puzzles, and practice sessions tailored to varying student skill levels (Grades 6–8).
• Coach students on MATHCOUNTS competition components: Sprint Round, Target Round, Team Round, and Countdown Round.
• Cultivate a safe, supportive, and collaborative club environment that encourages participation from all interested students
• Register the school’s team/club with the national MATHCOUNTS organization and local PA chapter.
• Communicate regularly with parents, school administration, and district personnel regarding meeting schedules, events, and student progress.
• Manage any allocated club budget, registration fees, or fundraising efforts in compliance with district financial policies.
• Ensure student safety and adhere to all district policies, state guidelines, and code of conduct during all meetings and off-site events.
