Job summary

GRMC Garrett Regional Medical Center in Oakland, MD, is seeking a part-time CNA/Patient Care Tech for the Family Centered Maternity Suite. You will support licensed staff with admissions, routine care, vital signs, and patient comfort, while maintaining safety and infection control standards.

Eligibility includes a high school diploma, BLS within 30 days, and state nurse aide certification (MD/OH/PA/WV). Prior patient care experience is preferred; shift patterns vary with a weekly schedule and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
• MD: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) through the Maryland Department of Health; OH/PA/WV in respective state nurse's aide programs.
• Prior patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Observes and reports patient concerns or changes in condition to the nursing staff immediately.
• Assists nursing staff with admission, transfer, discharge and general patient care duties.
• Records vital signs and assists with personal hygiene and other patient comfort measures.
• Records oral intake and outputs (temperature, blood pressure and other monitoring).
• Assists in specimen collection and other patient care activities.
• Maintains a clean and safe environment to prevent infection and protect patients, visitors, and staff.
• Reports equipment repairs to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Prepares patients for examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• Communicates nutrition concerns to nursing staff.
• Assists department with administrative tasks and answers patient call bells.
• Handles other duties as assigned.
