Job summary

GBMC HealthCare is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant/Patient Care Technician to assist Registered Nurses in direct and indirect patient care on our inpatient unit. This role involves ADLs, vital signs, specimen collection, and rapid response to patient needs under RN supervision.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED, current Maryland CNA registration, PCT certification, CPR, and at least 1 year of direct patient care experience. Competitive compensation and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Current Maryland State Board of Nursing registration as a CNA.
• Certified as a Patient Care Technician (PCT).
• CPR certification (Heart saver).
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience; Med/Surg preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care, comfort, and safety to assigned patients under RN supervision.
• Assists patients with activities of daily living (bathing, toileting, oral hygiene, linens).
• Maintains infection control to prevent contamination.
• Performs delegated nursing care procedures and routine vitals.
• Records observations and communicates changes to nursing staff.
• Manages meal trays, hydration, and feeding assistance as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked patient rooms and supplies.
• Assists with admission, transfer, and discharge of patients.
• Precepts new staff as directed.
