Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a skilled RN to lead the Maternity Nursing team at Atrium Health University City in a full-time capacity. The role supports nursing practice, staff coordination, and compliance with healthcare regulations while ensuring high-quality patient care in a maternity setting.

The ideal candidate holds a BSN, active RN licensure, and BLS certification, with preferred management experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current RN licensure in appropriate state.
• BSN required; BSN-enrolled within 1 year if not BSN on hire; complete within 3 years.
• BLS required; professional certification within 1 year of eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Support the manager to enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and care delivery.
• Assist with interview, selection, and supervision of nursing personnel.
• Coordinate regular staff meetings/huddles to exchange information and promote dialogue.
• Collaborate to ensure understanding and compliance with federal/state laws and policies.
• Round on patients, teammates, and physicians to assess satisfaction and care quality.
• Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers per policy.
• Identify outcomes to guide continuity of care/operations and monitor progress toward goals.
• Perform nursing care, assist with treatments, procedures, and administer medications as needed.
• Coordinate patient flow, staffing, and throughput based on volume/acuity.
